Power for fridge, lights etc, is from 2 x 110AH Gel batteries charged by a Xantrex TC40i 40 Amp charger. This is powered by the car (through a Powertech MI-5088 240V 1000W pure sine wave power invertor) when driving, a Honda EU10i
1kVA generator when remote, or 240v mains power when at a powered site. The invertor also provides 240v from the batteries when needed. We can keep the batteries charged with running the generator for about 1 hour each day, and we generally get 2 nights from the batteries when fully charged. A solar panel will be added, when finances allow (for when we stay more than 2 days in places generators can't be used). There is a 350A Anderson connector to provide 12v to the inverter for charging. For a schematic of the trailer electrics, go to the electrical schematic
. I am in the process of fitting Anderson 30A Powerpole connectors for all 12v supply inside the trailer, to replace the cigarette lighter style. The sockets on the exterior will remain, as there are no suitable weatherproof Powerpole connectors that I have found.
